Into the Gray

"He leaves behind a shiny ball and a song!" These songs are infamous for accusing the victim of the crimes which left them open to the Disco Thief's justice via theft. The song is performed by a Conqelian Funk Robot and the ball is a disco ball.

History

A legend around the year 5301, as noted by Hulderic. Depending on who you ask the Disco Thief is either a saint stealing from the unjust or an agent of chaos trying to tear apart society.

Rumors and Clues

Twinkletoes says while she was busking on our travels, someone asked whether she knew about a musical thief who leaves behind a shiny ball a song at the scene of the crime.

We are first attacked by disco paraphernalia in an underground bunker seemingly run by a smuggling ring.

Later, I see a funk robot for sale in New Flavem.

In New Flavem we hear rumors: "A phantom thief who leaves nothing but a song and a magic floating ball having robbed someone in Trin."

Elzara pulls records in Trin about the Disco Thief:

• The latest victim is Orna Julianna
• All accessible reports in the Town Hall are from over 50 years ago
• Reports suggest this is a copycat
• There does not seem to be any one name, gender, or race associated with these stories

Wash finds footprints around Orna's house, and then later matching ones at Kamal's house that may belong to the Disco Thief.

We meet the alleged Disco Thief!

Meeting

We meet the alleged thief (or modern copycat) while in Trin after an intense rooftop chase at midnight. We entertain them with our nonsense so much that they invite us to a dance party, where several of us receive permanent new dancing skills.

When we first meet them, they appear as a female elf. Later at the party, they appear as a male dwarf. They tell us we can call them "Sam."
