Session Summary

We carry on with our usual activities. Star updates us about the meeting to save Valdethirsk. Twinkletoes tells us she left to find her own adventures after her pirate captain retired. Hedvika provides Pharèl with fine clothes and agrees to let him cook for and dine with him for wine. Arachne sees a potato-shaped cloud. While Pharèl is at dinner with Hedvika, Wash meets with everyone else: He has secured 15gp advance payment per person, keeping Pharèl's share because he is missing. Back at the inn, we learn that more attacks have been made on the trees and are now accompanied with words in a foreign language. We attend a meeting the next day at the Gendry Town Hall regarding the trees and Valdethirsk. Everyone expresses concern about safety and terrorism, as well as increased monster activity. We decide to wait until we know what was written on the trees. Our commentary seems to have swayed people more to Hedvika's side.

Star tells us about the meeting to save Valdethirsk on Monday.

We visit with Linguine and the innkeeper. Eventually night rolls around and we progress to the next day. 

Sunday morning

• I’m on a breakfast shift. 
• Elzira is training.
• Elzara is working.
• Star is doing something mysterious and goes to the smithy to see Elzara. She agrees to upgrade his armor to studded leather.
• Twinkletoes is busking.
• Arachne goes to the unmarked shrine to meditate and pray.

Sunday evening

• Star goes to visit the theater

• Twinkletoes is busking at the theater.

• Turns out the pirate captain retired and so Twinkletoes went on to do her own thing. #characterlore

• I head to Hedvika to ask if he can hook me up with nice clothes and maybe some wine.

• Hedvika thinks about it. He says he can get me fine clothes. When I see Hedvika hesitating about the wine part, I suggest that I cook up a meal to serve the wine with (for us to share) and I’ll take home the leftover wine. #cooking

• I stay over and do the dinner thing!

• Elzira continues training.

• Elzara continues shield work.

• Star watches Twinkletoes play.

• Arachne goes back to the field and lays in a bundle of her cloak and holy symbol and looks for shapes in the clouds. She sees a perfectly potato shaped cloud.

• Wash meets everyone back at dinner, except for the local clown (me) who is at Hedvika’s house for dinner.

Star asks Wash how his trip was and where he went. Wash explains he was up north and talked to the big boss. He was trying to secure advance payment. Star fills him in on the festival plan and how he and Arachne want to break into the mansion at night. 

Everyone gets 15gp from the boss as an advance present.  #income

Wash asks where I’m at. Star says I haven’t been seen since breakfast, but I’m probably having fun wherever I’m at. Wash says he hopes I’m having 15gp worth of fun.

We all trickle back into the inn. There is a note at the desk for us. 

We’ve been invited to the town hall tomorrow. They’ve found more attacks on the trees and now there are words in a foreign language on the trees. #clues ^bc46af

I’m in good spirits and leave 1gp for the innkeeper again. Intel collected: I became familiar with where the kitchen is in the house. I learned about all the fancy ingredients he has available. I know where the bathroom is. #relationships

Star wants to go see the languages and tries to get his hands on a horse. He is unable to. 

Monday morning

• Training + breakfast then going to the town hall meeting.

• Elzira and Star banter about bathing at 4am.

• I talk about the amazing meal I made and ate at Hedvika’s last night.

• We all go to the town hall. Good number of people are there.

• Hedvika is here.

• Tasha waves us in. 

• She explains that everyone’s going to go through and talk about their opinions and the fate of Valdethirsk will be put to a vote.

• She explains all the things that have happened so far including recent events with the further tree destruction. 

• Star is invited to speak first.

• What will happen to the people? Will they be refugees here in town?

• Why exactly are these monsters coming out of nowhere? It doesn’t seem like a coincidence that owlbears are rampaging around.

• He says there are no clear answers and sits down. People listen closely and are respecting and considering his words.

• Wash points out that this is Hedvika’s project and therefore his responsibility.

• Hedvika asks to speak but is told he’ll have a turn shortly.

• I shrug and comment that if the threats don’t escalate, any competent guard would suffice given how easily we handled the situation. 

• Hedvika apologizes for not properly estimating the needs of Valdethirsk and its safety and clearly it should be possible to adequately fix these issues.

• The guards who saw the trees say that it’s clear someone is preparing terrorist attacks, if not on Gendry or Valdethirsk, on the paths between them. They think that the militant groups doing this are involved with the monster attacks. ^cbc4f5

• Someone should know by this evening more about the trees and their writings.

• Wash says maybe decisions should be postponed until we know what’s on the trees.

• Tasha agrees that’s not unreasonable.

• Hedvika commits to keeping Valdethirsk safe and investing whatever money it takes to do that.

• No one really liked Hedvika but our comments have made people somewhat agree with keeping Valdethirsk open.

• Tasha says they’ll do a final vote after the information from the trees comes back in.
