Session Summary

Pharèl buys himself a fire component for his staff. The day of the festival and the heist is here. Hedvika has been fully invested into festival arrangements and taking public credit for the excitement surrounding it. Twinkletoes puts on a spectacular show, enrapturing Hedvika. Pharèl uses Alter Self throughout the night to look like the missing members of the party. Meanwhile... Arachne, Star, Kai, Elzira, and Elzara perform the heist. With a little trouble, they manage to find a room with a lot of magic and break in close to it, using Star's spider familiar to create a distraction on the other side of the house. This works temporarily, but the guards find them anyways, and before any faces are seen, Elzira manages to put all the guards to sleep in three casts. The party then blindfolds and ties the guards.

Everyone is getting excited about the festival coming up! Hedvika has really been investing himself into and clearly is happy about how well the planning has gone. He’s taking a lot of public ownership for it.

It’s not super hard for me to convince Hedvika to sit down, chill out, and listen to the music.

Twinkletoes puts on a spectacular show. Hedvika is super pleased with the performance, completely enraptured. 

While I'm mostly gonna be in and around Hedvika, I will be using Alter Self twice throughout the night to imitate my friends at a distance wearing costumes in hopes that Hedvika sees their faces in the crowd during the heist.

The Heist

Arachne casts Pass Without Trace on the party, and Blessing of the Trickster on Star. Despite the help of PWT, the group is not going so stealthily. 

As they arrive at the mansion, there are two guards at the front gate. It appears that the number of guards has been increased. However, it doesn’t seem like there is anyone else watching directly inside.

Star approaches the wall (16) to look for blind spots where no one can see them. People could see from the road but the guards look distracted. After he finishes scouting, he goes back to tell everyone the best way to go inside.

Using a minor illusion spell to cover the main area of the wall, everyone helps each other up and over the wall. 

Star makes a makeshift grappling hook out of pitons and rope. It makes a bit of noise but he is able to secure it over the next wall.

Kai suggests to the guards to go for a nice long walk. The fireworks begin going off.

Everyone is able to make it to area 16, aka the roof.

It appears some windows have been ripped out and covered up. 

There are still some windows they can see through. Arachne peers through and sees kitchen supplies.

Star is able to remember exactly which windows were filled in. He summons his spider familiar to look in the window. There are four guards patrolling the inside of the house in this route. The guards are talking about wishing they were at the festival. #familiar

They’ve found another window to peek through. It may be booby trapped but there is no one inside. There are a lot of collectibles and displays.

They run over to collect Elzira, who casts Detect Magic to see what’s inside. He can tell there are some magical items. From what he can tell, they’re just magical trinkets. He continues back towards the blocked up windows. He senses a pool of magic. This is a massive reservoir of magic, along with several other magical items.

They break into a room using mage hand and hear chatting next door.

The spider familiar crawls to the next room over. There are five guards sitting and chatting around.

The spider gets sent in to scream and ring a bell and make a distraction. 

There are two more guards in the hallway who have noticed this commotion and attacked them. The spider has climbed up to the ceiling and now there are seven guards in there, several of whom are cowering and the others are throwing stuff at it. The spider dismisses itself. Elzira casts sleep as soon as this happens. 

Three of the guards pass out. Someone shouts “What’s going on?” and is coming down the hallway. Elzira casts sleep again. Three more guards fall asleep. There are two more people coming down the hallway and sound very confused.

The spider is recalled to keep the guards distracted and Elzira casts sleep once more to knock everyone out again. 

The crew rushes in to tie and blindfold everyone in their very short window of time for sleep. Arachne is not doing well but everyone else is making quick work of tying everyone.
