Session Summary

After Elzira and Star vanish in a light, Wash appears from the portal and tells us a crazy story about being chased and trapped. Arachne checks him out but can't find anything wrong, and we realize he might be a clone, or just a partial Wash. Wash gives us clues about where to go and what to look for, and then disappears. We decide to try to defeat the last turret and identify the orb, but Arachne gets stunned and I attack the turrets with Shocking Grasp. Elzara destroys one and I investigate the orb, which is alchemically magical. We rest up for the night and wake up the next day to continue our journey.

“Uh, does that happen often with you guys?” Sylvia asks after Elzira and Star disappear from the hidden laboratory.

I start the portal and it sputters as Wash spills out. He doesn’t seem to remember what’s going on or know where he is. There was a bad-smelling man who chased him. He seems to think it’s been a very long time. #clues

Arachne attempts to catch him up and do a medicine check. 

I make the most spectacular meal out of the rations. 

Wash is mumbling crazy stories about traps and being chased. He does not seem to think he is himself or that this is right.  ^3662eb

Arachne casts Detect Magic to see what is going on with him. Nothing is detectable.

He seems to like my meal but doesn’t seem any different, but slightly healthier.

We have 3 parts of 152 split elements of Wash. This comes after I guess that he is a clone. #clues

Enemy caught in a sewer? (Swamp and feces). 

Wash calls the portal garbage and says to burn and trash it. NOT break it.

Wash calls himself a deity. He is simultaneously the ascended and under the charge of the ascended. #clues

I list out the northern cities I remember but he doesn’t seem to have a solid response. There is a dumping ground somewhere. I guess it is the dumping ground of the company. #clues

Three boons. Asking, answers, is known and what could be known.

1. Where do we need to go? Whethel, Grothe, Ontel. #clues
2. What are we looking for? A direction, a guard, fire, empty warehouses that are not empty. Those that were, those that could be, those that will never be. A guard. Many guards. Lies. Money trail.
3. Something about Kai? There is no “Us” there is only Wash. Wash creates Wash.

He disappears. 

Sylvia is so confused and I explain who he was, or wasn’t, rather.

We decide to go in and try to defeat the last turret and identify the orb. 

Arachne goes in and gets all but one of her mirror images taken out and is stunned.

I run in and touch one of the turrets with Shocking Grasp, dealing 16 damage. 

Elzara runs in and knocks over Arachne. Elzara moves forward and crouches (prone) behind another thing. 

Twinkletoes casts 5 healing on me and then casts Shatter. I take 16 halved damage (8 damage). 

The other turret turns towards me and fires twice but misses. 

I use Shocking Grasp to attack and deal 13 damage. 

Elzara runs up to smash it with a hammer, dealing 10 damage and fully destroying it. 

I run up to look at the orb. It looks very different from the orbs it has in our pockets. It’s a small black sphere that measures ¾ of an inch. It is in a glass case. #clues

I speak to it. It doesn’t answer. I see if Arachne recognizes it. 

We go back to look for any labels or writing. Arachne casts Detect Magic to examine the orb. The orb has magic. It’s alchemical magic, as in magical items, less of a specific spell and more of a magic that accomplishes something when combined with other items. #clues

I investigate the pedestal but don’t find anything. 

Arachne asks Twinkletoes and Elzara if they want to check the orb. 

Arachne manages to look at the wrong pedestal to investigate for labels.

We settle in for the evening to rest up before heading out the following day. I manage to make a terrible meal. Sylvia takes a bite and discretely gets rid of her meal. 

We wake up the next morning, Friday the 26th of Onette. (CHECK DATES)
