Session Summary

Elzira disappears in a flash of light. Sylvia administers Elzara a health potion, which lookes and tastes bad but heals her back to max health. She later also gives one to Arachne, which does not heal her to max but is still very helpful. Overall, we survive and find a safe place to rest and heal.

Elzira vanishes in a flash of light.

Sylvia looks at Elzara and sees how she’s not doing super hot. She runs over to Elzara and takes an opportunity attack. It looks like she shrugs it off. She digs through her bag and administers a health potion to Elzara. It looks and tastes grody, but it heals her for 60 HP (aka her max health). 

Twinkletoes is charismatic AF and saves her throw. She casts Shatter at Level 3, dealing a possible 8 damage. She heals me for 8 HP. 

Arachne fails a saving throw. She rolls 67 on a d100 check. She rolls a 4 on a d8. She does nothing and collapses. BEACON 2, SPIRITUAL 2

The umber hulks seem agitated. #clues It’s Elzara’s turn. For some reason, she does not make a saving throw. She swings at the most injured umber hulk. She action surges and hits it three times. This deals a total of 29 damage. GIANT 2

 The umber hulks move forward. Nine attacks are made on Arachne. They deal a total of 53 damage. This knocks her unconscious (-20 HP). BEACON, SPIRITUAL, nullified. The others miss Sylvia. Elzara takes a fury of blows, some of which miss. The five that hit deal 51 damage.

I do not need to make a saving throw. I cast Slow on the Umber Hulk, catching 5 of them. I use 2 Sorcery Points to cast Green Flame Blade, dealing 11 damage to my target and 6 damage to the one to its left, and run away 40 feet. SLOW 1

Sylvia rushes over and heals Arachne with a potion for 43 HP, bringing her to 23 HP total, which revives her. “You’re gonna make me use all of these, aren’t you.”

Twinkletoes takes aim for a weakened umber hulk with a fire bolt, but misses. She casts Healing Word on Elzara, granting 8 HP. 

Arachne casts Spirit Guardians, which is a 15 foot radius,  identifying the Team as being safe. Anyone within the range takes 14 radiant damage or half on a successful save. She uses her bonus action to cast Shield of Faith, adding +2 AC. SPIRIT GUARDIANS 1

Elzara swings at the only non-slowed umber hulk near her twice, dealing 17 damage. She invokes her fire rune on the same creature. It succeeds!! It is restrained by shackles. GIANT 3

The umber hulks in Arachne’s 15-foot radius start out their turn with 11 damage or half on wisdom saving throw. Nine attacks come down on Arachne. She takes 14 damage from two hits that connect. Three attack Sylvia. One hits with its mandibles. The umber hulks around Elzara misses.  

I use 1 Sorcery Point to twin Chromatic Orb and deal 28 damage. I sacrifice a Level 2 slot for 2 Sorcery Points as my bonus action. SLOW 2

Sylvia asks Arachne if she needs healing. Arachne declines, and so she turns around and starts wailing on the umber hulk nearby. 

Twinkletoes casts shatter on the umber hulk near Arachne, dealing 12 damage. She grants Arachne bardic inspiration. “Don’t die!”

Arachne casts Mirror Image and 9 HP. SPIRIT GUARDIANS 2, MIRROR IMAGE 1

Elzara attacks for 7 damage. She uses Second Wind for 15 HP. GIANT 4

The umber hulks near Arachne take 17 damage or half on a wisdom saving throw. Elzara’s restrained hulk takes 6 damage. Unfortunately, it then breaks the fiery chains. The one that Sylvia attacked looks like it's hanging on by a thread. Nine attacks rain down on Arachne. Only two connect and she has one mirror image remaining. Sylvia takes a ton of damage. The rest attack at Elzara, some connecting. Elzara invokes her cloud rune as a reaction. It succeeds and she redirects it at the more damaged looking umber hulk, dealing 14 damage. Elzara takes 8 damage.  

I spend 1 Sorcery Point to twin Chromatic Orb, dealing 14 damage. I sacrificed another Level 2 Slot for 2 more Sorcery Points. SLOW 3

Twinkletoes casts Shatter, dealing 21 damage. She casts Healing Word, granting 5 HP to Arachne.

Arachne casts Guiding Bolt on the healthiest Umber Hulk to her, dealing 28 damage. She casts Healing Word on herself, granting 4 HP. SPIRIT GUARDIANS 3, MIRROR IMAGE 2

Elzara misses. GIANT 5

The umber hulk near Arachne all take 15 damage or half on a saved wisdom throw. They attack her, three hitting. The last Mirror Image is destroyed, saving her from one of those hits. MIRROR IMAGE, nullified. She takes 12 damage. 

I spend 1 Sorcery Point to twin Chromatic Orb, dealing 14 damage. I spend 2 Sorcery Points to quicken Fire Bolt and take out an umber hulk near Arachne. SLOW 4

Sylvia runs over and punches the non-slowed umber hulk.

Twinkletoes casts her last shatter, dealing 16 damage or half on a constitution save. She takes down the two umber hulk nearest Arachne. 

Arachne does the rock symbols over her head, like YEAH! She runs back down to the slowed umber hulk, bringing along her radiant damage. It kills one of the umber hulk. It deals 17 damage or half on save. She swings her mace, but fails dramatically… until she remembers her inspiration. She hits and deals 5 damage. SPIRIT GUARDIANS 4

Elzara turns and smashes the hulk nearest Arachne. She deals 20 damage. GIANT 6

Arachne’s radiance deals 12 damage. She then takes 18 damage, taking her down to -3 HP.  This negates Spirit Guardians. 

I twin Chromatic Orb again, spending my second to last Sorcery Point, but miss both times. SLOW 5

Sylvia punches another umber hulk.

Twinkletoes casts Fire Bolt. She hits and deals 11 damage. 

Arachne makes a death saving throw and succeeds. 

Elzara hits the most injured one, one after the other, dealing a total of 18 damage. One goes down.

The two remaining umber hulk attack. One hits and deals Elzara 15 damage.

I cast a Fire Bolt at the most damaged umber hulk, dealing 15 damage.

Sylvia punches again. 

Twinkletoes aims for the most healthy umber hulk and crits on a hit, dealing 25 damage

Arachne fails a death saving throw.

Elzara swings at the remaining umber hulk, taking them both down.

NO MORE INITIATIVE

I race over and stabilize Arachne. 

I ask Sylvia about her potions and then suggest we look around for somewhere to short rest. I am able to find a little safe enclosure we might be able to hide out in. 

I attempt to cook up a hearty meal but only make an average one. #cooking

We all heal up.
