Into the Gray

Session Summary

Wash and his bird vanish with a thud. After four more hours, we are attacked by Bone Snakes that are able to cast magic. We have to dodge multiple bolts of lightning, and some of us take significant damage. Star casts Darkness, Arachne casts Beacon of Hope, and Twinkletoes casts Shatter. Arachne uses Turn Undead to make them flee. We manage to defeat most of the creatures, but Star is taken down. After healing and stabilizing each other, we are able to defeat the last Bone Snake, and Arachne heals Star.

A thud happens when Wash and his bird disappear. 

After four more hours of traveling, several of our party have to make dexterity saving throws. A bolt of lightning suddenly appears and deals 25 damage to Star and Arachne and half to Twinkletoes. 

They are some kind of Bone Snakes that seem to be able to cast magic.

Two more beams of lightning come out. We all are targeted by one or the other. We all manage to dodge (lowest 17 DEX). 27 damage to Arachne, Twinkletoes, and Star. For the rest of us, 19 damage. All can halve it. 

Star misses.

Twinkletoes misses and heals herself.

Elzara attempts to block an attack when the boney boys start to attack us again. She blocks one bolt of lightning! Me and Elzara take 24 damage, half for Elzira. The next one comes in at 20 damage (halved for me).

Arachne takes half damage with 5 HP left, Twinkletoes evades entirely. Star halves 34 (17 damage) halved again. 

Star casts Darkness on his hawk which flies down in front of the bone snakes.

Arachne casts Beacon of Hope.

Twinkletoes casts Shatter.

Star does a dex save and is able to double half 39 damage down to 9 damage. A ray of frost flies by. 

Twinkletoes gets nearly hit but uses her shield spell to avoid getting hit. 

Arachne clones herself. 

Star moves his bird over Arachne and all the unconscious people. He shoots! He scores! He deals 9 damage. 

Twinkletoes moves upward and makes a shot with her crossbow, dealing 8 damage. She shoots again! 7 more damage!

One of the snakes sees Twinkletoes and gives her a stink eye but attacks Star. It attacks and hits but halved, and halved again. He succeeds a WIS saving throw.

I stabilize. 

Arachne casts Turn Undead.

Star hits the most dead looking one. 

Twinkletoes stabilizes Elzara and heals me for 12 HP.

All but two of the creatures run away. Star uses his inspiration to reroll and manage DEX saving throw. However the next hit takes him down.

I’m up so I cast slow! I quicken but miss with Fire Bolt. SLOW 1

 Arachne kills one of the remaining creatures and runs towards Star who is downed.

Elzara stabilizes. 

Star has a success death roll.

Twinkletoes heals Elzira for 12 HP. She hits with her crossbow for 6 damage.

I hit once with a twinned Chromatic Orb for 13 damage and move back.

Arachne deals 5 damage on a failed DEX save from the snake.

Elzira shoots Fire Bolt! And misses.

Twinkletoes gives Elzara 12 healing. She hits for 10 damage. 

A ray of frost hits Twinkletoes. Elzara uses her reaction to impose disadvantage. It still hits though for 11 damage. 

I miss with a Fire Bolt.

Arachne fires off Sacred Flame and hits for 15 damage and takes down the last snake! She reaches Star as he stabilizes and heals him for 7 HP.
