Session Summary

We engage in a battle with a group of Slaads after spotting them 400 feet southwest of us. As we begin to retreat and shoot, Star gives Elzara a bear trap and keeps missing his shots. Star's bird informs us of two more groups of Slaads, one to the northwest and one to the southeast. After a series of attacks, we manage to knock down one Slaad. However, it regenerates and moves closer, managing to hit Elzara twice and making her very ill. We continue our attacks and manage to take down the rest of the Slaads, including the one that is slowed by my spell. However, we are left worried about Elzara's well-being after she fails to heal using Second Wind. I use Nature's Medicine on her but we cannot tell if it was effective.

I saw movement about 400 feet southwest. I point it out, Star shoots immediately and misses. It’s 2 Slaad.

We begin retreating and shooting. 

Star gives Elzara a bear trap. He shoots again and misses. 

They have noticed us now and have definitely seen us now.

At this point, Star’s bird informs him of two groups of three more Slaad, one of them is to the northwest, and one is coming from around the main road to the southeast. 

400ft to the north west, southeast 700ft. 

Star continues missing. The first group comes into range.

I hit a Fire Bolt for 14 damage.

Wash biffs a shot and shatters a window very loudly. One hits for 13 damage. 

At the shattered glass, Star’s bird says that the other two groups of Slaad have heard and are paying attention now. 

Wash shoots again with a crit and a hit. 14+13+4 damage.

Arachne preps a sacred flame.

I fire off a Fire Bolt for 17 damage.

Elzira hits for 6 fire. This knocks down the first Slaad!

Twinkletoes shoots a Fire Bolt for 8 damage.

The remaining Slaad appears to heal and comes forward. This triggers Arachne’s flame for 8 radiant damage.

Wash is in a daze.

Elzara stands her ground.

Arachne fires off Sacred Flame again for a possible 3 damage.

I shoot off a Fire Bolt for 21 damage.

Elzira does as well for 11 damage.

Star shoots again. He hits for 7 damage. 

Twinkletoes Fire Bolts for 7 damage.

Arachne and Elzara have stayed back a bit for Arachne’s cantrip. 

It regenerates again and moves closer. It steps into the trap but manages to evade its effects. It makes three attacks on Elzara. It misses one but hits twice for 12 damage. She makes two CON saves (14 and 24). 

Wash continues casting Baja Blast. He hits once for 13 damage.

Elzara bonks! She turns giant and then bonks. She deals 10 damage.

Star whispers “Die!” and hits for 19 damage. 

Arachne casts Sacred Flame again for 11 radiant damage.

I use Fire Bolt again for 15 damage.

Elzira does the same for 17 damage, which takes it out!

We keep moving west and now move our targeting to the north. 

Star finally crits and deals 25+11 damage.

So far we’ve been fighting red creatures, these are blue. I cast SLOW 1.

Wash shoots Baja Blast. He deals 14+4 damage. “Target the one on the left!”

Twinkletoes hits a Fire Bolt for 19 damage.

Elzira misses.

Star hits for 19 damage.

Wash hits Baja Blast once for 14+2 damage.

Elzara lays a trap and prepares to hit. 

Star deals 19 damage.

Arachne stands up by Elzara and prepares Sacred Flame. 

I shoot a Fire Bolt for 12 damage. SLOW 2

Elzira misses.

Twinkletoes hits for 14 damage.

The two unslowed sprint forward and the other does so at half speed. This triggers the Sacred Flame on the one on the left. 

Wash Bajas for 20+4 damage. 

Elzara prepares to hit. 

Star hits for 21 damage. This takes down the Slaad on the far left!

Arachne casts Sacred Flame for a possibly 10 radiant damage.

I miss Fire Bolt. SLOW 3

 Elzira also misses.

Twinkletoes whips out the crossbow for 10 damage. 

It regenerates and moves closer. Elzara’s prepared attack triggers. It also manages to evade the bear trap. She hits twice for 10+4 damage. It swipes at her thrice. It hits two of those attacks. This deals 27 damage. Elzara makes two CON saves: 13 and 18. She is not feeling well.

Wash hits for 12 damage. 

Elzara swings twice and hits once. She deals 14 damage. She uses Second Wind. When she does this, instead of healing, it doesn’t work. Arachne notes this and is worried.

Star shoots! He deals 18 damage.

Arachne casts Sacred Flame for 4 possible radiant damage. She tries to heal Elzara but it doesn’t work. 

I move forward 40 feet and deal 15 fire damage with Fire Bolt. SLOW 4

Elzira hits for 11 damage with Fire Bolt.

Twinkletoes hits for 9 damage with her Crossbow.

It regenerates. Elzara gets attacked again. She takes a bite and a claw attack for 26 damage. 

The other dashes up to them.

Wash hits twice for 17 damage. 

Elzara isn’t feeling well and misses twice. 

Star hits for 19 damage and kills the non slowed Slaad. 

Arachne moves out to the other side of Elzara. She tries to see if she can tell what’s wrong with Elzara. She can only see bad scratches.

I run forward to slap with my quarterstaff. I deal 7 bludgeoning and 8 fire damage and step back. SLOW 5

Elzira hits with Fire Bolt for 17 fire damage. 

Twinkletoes deals 6 damage with her crossbow. 

It regenerates and attempts to attack Elzara. It deals 14 damage. This knocks out Elzara. 

The other group is about 500 feet away from us still.

Wash fires again for 17 force damage.

Elzara succeeds in a death saving throw.

Star crits for 20+22 damage.

Arachne uses Spare the Dying to stabilize Elzara. She is at 0 HP and stable. 

I attack with my staff for 9 bludgeoning and 8 fire damage. It looks pretty bad. I quicken Fire Bolt for 13 fire damage. 

Twinkletoes Nat 1s with her crossbow. She uses her Halfling feature to reshoot. She does twice and deals a total of 13 piercing damage.

It is still alive :(

I take a claw attack for 11 damage. I make a CON save for 19 and suffer no adverse effects.

Wash takes it down with more Baja Blast. 

The other three are fast approaching. They are 450 feet away.  

I administer one portion of Nature’s Medicine that we had received earlier. Elzara does not spring back up. Arachne attempts to check her again. 

Star uses Prestidigitation to clean the wounds. The wounds look clean.

The Slaad will have a clear line of sight in about 100 feet. Wash uses his bird to distract them and fly off in the opposite direction. It looks like it’s working and they turn to follow the bird.

Wash shoulders Elzara with Star and we trudge back to the hut. 

It’s just after noon. It’ll be about 2:30pm.
