Into the Gray

Session Summary

We encounter a caravan on the road and warn them about owlbears. The caravan leader, Nirmal, is enthusiastic but the rest of the caravan seems skeptical. They arrive in the town of Trin and warn the guards about the owlbears, who take the threat seriously. The group meets a talking cat named Krystale who requests proper yarn. They stay at the Tahvo Inn for five nights and shop for items to bribe cats for information about the Disco Thief. They explore the harbor and overhear a family talking about the area. Arachne wants to check out a jewelry store. They are given the homework to figure out their purpose in town.

We see a caravan moving with a lot of supplies, perhaps cargo for a store. The driver from a distance waves hello at us. He seems way too enthusiastic, everyone on the caravan is exasperated. #encounters/caravans

We begin talking and I warn them about the owlbears.

Nirmal is the leader of the caravan. He is overly enthusiastic.

The others don’t seem to believe us. They are incredulous about my sign, even.

I hand out owlbear claws. The one who was really annoyed did not accept my claws. This leaves me with 91.

We arrive to Trin at 6pm.

The guards tell us where Wash is.

There is a large open space in front of the buildings, some of which are definitely stores.

Arachne warns the guards about the owlbears. They seem suspicious but believe us better than the caravan did. I hand them each claws as well, which they think is super weird. They want details about how many, where on the path, etc. Arachne and I make a statement and sign it. #relationships #encounters/guards

The path leads us past stores. As we pass by we can hear a lot of small dogs. There are also some cats wandering around.

Twinkletoes is worried these are mill puppy farms.

“Did you come here to bring me something?” one cat asks. “What do you want?” The cat describes a ball of yarn.

Twinkletoes gives her some string, the cat says it is “Acceptable” but would be very pleased with proper yarn. The cat’s name is Krystale.

We all end up meeting Wash at an inn.

We decide we’ll hang out and try to learn what we can about the Disco Thief.

We stay at the Tahvo Inn 5sp → 5 nights #costs

We go shopping with Twinkletoes to find yarn, etc. to bribe cats to see what we can find out about the Disco Thief.

As we enter a store, a salvo of puppies launches at us.

Twinkletoes and I go to the harbors. The walls for the monsters clearly go well out into the water.

It’s pretty empty. To the right there are people on the beach. We enter the docks area. All of the work that usually gets done is finished or happening elsewhere. There are an array of boats, it’s a full harbor. We suspect this is probably because there is not an extensive amount of boat travel.

I’m not super slick as we pass the family, but they say “It sure is nice to be out here while no one else is here.” They’re talking about how nice it is here. One of the kids mutters to themselves. The mother snaps and we assume he was grumbling.

Arachne wants to be checking out a store for jewelry and trinkets.
