Session Summary

We sail towards our next destination. We come across a pillar with a bowl shape on top and try to relight it but fail. Star lights some coals that will last for an hour. While on the lookout for creatures, we see a reef shark and Twinkletoes casts Animal Friendship on it. It tells us that items like the orbs we are looking for might be on the seabed. We approach the third island and find another unlit pillar, so I polymorph Arachne and Star into reef sharks to search the underwater city for the orbs. They find ruined buildings, toys, and jewelry but nothing magical. Star gets separated from the boat but we find him with the help of Sending and Dancing Lights. We arrive at the last island with 36 hours left on the rental.

Log

Star zaps to us. He is unable to climb the pillar to get up there with Twinkletoes. He is able to light coals on the pillar that will last about an hour.

It takes us about 1 hour at the pillar and then 2 hours towards our next destination.

Arachne and Star look out for creatures for Twinkletoes to talk to. They see a reef shark and shout out about it. Twinkletoes casts Animal Friendship on the shark and dives in with a rope tethered. It appears to work! It swims up and boops her leg. #encounters/sea

She casts Speak with Animals. She asks if he’s seen any of these orbs around.

“Well handsome, I’m seeing one right now in your hand.”

“Thank you so much, have you seen any others, maybe?”

“No but things like that would be on the seabed.” There is another boop of the snoot.

“We are looking… what’s your name?”

All of this communication has been with body movement, as sharks don’t make sounds.

“Me.”

Twinkletoes asks it to come close to us and show off its magnificent self. It happily comes to show off its majestic dorsal fin.

I jump in and try to pet it and mess up my hand a bit (-1HP). “The nose, the nose!” He says. Twinkletoes suggests we call it good.

Arachne waves goodbye and he wiggles goodbye.

Arachne uses a rope to help us get back into the boat.

Thankfully I’m able to get back in despite all my struggles.

40 hours left on the clock, 6pm as we approach the third island. There is a familiar structure, a pillar. It is also not lit. The plaque says the same thing.

We try to see if we can light beer on fire, but we cannot.

Arachne looks around to see if she can find any sign of the orbs.

I cast Polymorph twinned on Star and Arachne as Reef Sharks to search for the orbs underwater. We begin our search from the beginning. 7:30pm. 38hr 30min left on the clock.

Down at the bottom of the sea floor they find buildings. It looks to be like a sunken city. Arachne can see some temples. She wants to check those out. Unfortunately nothing gives a magic glow. Her entire arc will be within the city limits here. Arachne does also see an octopus. She doesn’t find much else.

Meanwhile, Star attempts to make a semi-circle around the boat. He also finds old houses and finds ruined items. Everything is waterlogged. There are children’s toys and funk robots. He is able to find jewelry and gets a bunch in his mouth.

When they surface, Star is not near the boat. Arachne uses “Sending” and asks where he is. He can only see water. He sends off Dancing Lights. Arachne is able to find him!

By 9pm we’ll have picked him up.

At 10pm we get to the other island and there is another column and we’ve got 36 hours left on the rental.
